Belize IBC's

You should also note the restrictions regarding
establishing a Belizean IBC (permitted or prohibited business activities), and

A Belize IBC may not engage in any of the following activities (these
are prohibited or require special licenses):
- carry on business with persons resident in Belize;
- own an interest in real estate situated in Belize, unless leased
property (see
IBC
Act).
- carry on a banking business unless it is licensed under an enactment
authorising it to carry on such business;
- carry on business as an insurance or a reinsurance company, insurance
agent or insurance broker, unless licensed to do so;
- carry on the business of providing the registered office for companies;
- carry on trust business, unless licensed to do so;
- carry on collective investment schemes (such as mutual funds), unless
licensed to do so;
- hold shares, stock, debt obligations or other securities in a company
incorporated under the Companies Act (or any amendment thereto);
- issue its shares, stock, debt obligations or other securities to any
person resident in Belize or to any other company issued under the Companies
Act (see the IBC Act).
Nor may a company use in its name any of the following words:
- Building Society, Chamber of Commerce, Chartered, Cooperative, Imperial,
Municipal, Royal, or any other word(s) conveying a similar meaning or
- which suggests the patronage of Her Majesty or that of a member of the
Royal Family or a connection with the Government of Belize;
- words that are indecent, offensive, or objectionable; or
- Assurance, Bank, Insurance or Trust, or any derivatives or cognate
expressions thereof, unless duly licensed.
